In his forty years of professional life, Rafael Alberto Pérez has gone through almost every aspects of communication and has earned a well deserved reputation as strategic consultant. However, three different stages can be distinguished:


1 1962- 1977: Publicity
His publicity stage coincides with the arrival of the multinationals, the development of the sector in Spain and the implantation of the so called agency philosophies. In those 15 years he acquires a rich experience in massive products marketing for Unilever , Coca Cola, Gillette and Johnson Wax , from the multinationals Lintas , FCB and McCann Erickson .


1977-1982: Public Opinion
When he founded the Centro de Estudios y Comunicación Económica (Center of Studies and Economy Communication), entity that placed an important role in the Spanish economic transition, he twisted into public opinion huge subjects.

This stage represents to Rafael Alberto Pérez the chance to work with important figures of Economy (Jürgen Donges, James Buchanan, Gordon Tullock, Henri Lepage, García Echevarría…), of Rights (Luis Sánches Agesta, Joaquin Garrigues and Diaz- Cañabate, Fernándo Sánchez Calero…) and Politics (Enrique Fuentes Quintana, Enrique Barón…).

Those years he directed the Center's research program, coordinated debate forums, impulsed as editorial counselor of Espasa Calpe the publication of relevant works of economics thought such as “El cálculo del Consenso” and promotes the foundation of the Spanish Section of the Public Choice Society. But it would be his interest in corporate communication what would mark his professional future.


1982-2005: Strategic consultant of communication
With the foundation in 1982 of the Instituto del Comunicación Pública (Public Communication Institute) he started a new stage as businessman and communication consultant. This is deepened when in 1995 he founded, together with the journalist and professor Jesús Timoteo Álvarez, the firm Consultores Quantumleap ( www.quantumleap-es.com ) which he presides. Nowadays, it is one of the most distinguished public relations enterprises in Spain for the quality and fidelity of its prestigious costumers. From 2004 he is also Consultant of The Blue Room Project ( www.blueroom.es ), a specialized firm in tourism marketing and communication. It is in this stage when he obtains the possibility of applying all his theoretic- practical potential and his innovative ideas into the design of the communication strategies and to advising enterprises and institution of importance such as:

Member of the professional associations DIRCOM, AESPLAN, IRPREX and BANDWIDTH, and president of the Iberoamerican Forum about Communication Strategies (FISEC), Rafael Alberto Pérez truly believes in the advantages of ideas and experience interchange.

1974/77 – Director of the Executive Department and member of the directive committee of McCann Erickson, Madrid.

 

1970/74 – Director of international accounts and member of the directive commitee of Foote, Cone & Belding (FCB), Madrid.

 

1966/70 – Director of Accounts in Lintas, Madrid and Brussels.

 

1965/66 – Publicitary cinema creative in Moro studies
